Prospective research students – please read this before
contacting me
- Emails from enquirers who clearly have little idea of what
research I am involved in, or obviously haven't taken account of
the advice below, run the risk of being indistinguishable from
spam and will not be responded to.
- I do not take on international student interns. Rather than
respond to each such request personally in the negative, this is
a blanket statement that I can't help you out, and wish you the
best with your search.
- Requests for PhD supervision in areas not close to my
research interests demonstrate that you haven't done your
homework in checking my web page and spotting this statement, in
which case, don't expect to get any response from me.
- Email from enquirers with a strong background in artificial
intelligence may be responded to, but I am currently only active
in co-supervision and not taking on new primary supervisions.
- Funding – Information about the PhD application
processes and scholarships for the University of Melbourne
is here
- note that to be competitive applicants need a score in the mid
80's or GPA equivalent
