Asia

• Worked at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, for three months in 2001 as a Tan Chin Tuan Exchange Fellow.

• Participated in the Australia Japan Emerging Research Leaders Exchange Program (ERLEP), in 2015, run by the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and the Engineering Academy of Japan.
• On the steering committee for the Australia Japan Emerging Research Leaders Exchange Program (ERLEP) Transdisciplinary Forums held each year since 2018.
• Have several close colleagues in Japan, including Professor Shiro Ikeda, Professor Kazuhide Ito and Professor Toshiro Ohashi .

• Helping establish a strong joint Ph.D. program between Shanghai Jiaotong University and the University of Melbourne.
• Collaborate closely with Professor Zhangsheng Yu .

• Strong links to researchers at the City University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Australia

• Am an Adjunct Professor in the Mathematical Sciences Institute, Australian National University.
• Work closely with Professor Philip Leong at the University of Sydney.

Europe

• Was a Visiting Professor at Telecom Paris, France, for two months in 2001.
• Am the founding co-director of the International Associated Laboratory (LIA) called LIA GEODESIC (Geometry Driven Signal and Image Processing Lab), sponsored by CNRS (the French National Center for Scientific Research).
• Long-term collaboration with Dr Nicolas Le Bihan and Dr Salem Said in France.

• Collaborating with Dr Eric Kerrigan and Dr Panos Parpas at Imperial College London.
