Lu Aye 2005 'Biogas for development', Engineering a Better World, Engineers Without Borders Australia, 2005 National Conference

Abstract

Biogas digesters are identified as one of the most useful decentralized sources of energy supply. Biogas brings health, social, environmental, and financial benefits for developing countries. Biogas digesters do not require large capital to set up, and do not pose environmental problems. The presentation will cover fundamentals of the anaerobic digestion process, applications in developing countries and benefits. Low cost design issues and limitations will also be discussed.
