Abstract
The main aim of this paper is to review the currently available assessment tools for the evaluation of sustainability of office buildings. All of these tools consider sustainability in terms of one or two aspects and exclude the other equally important aspects such as financial, social and public participation. None of the tools investigated provide a definitive assessment about the overall sustainability of the office buildings. A wide range of factors determine the overall sustainability of office buildings. This paper, thus, advocates the use of an integrated approach to quantify the sustainability of office buildings.
