STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS

The ACM's Special Interest Group on Information Retrieval (SIGIR) is offering ten grants each of $US1000 to support attendance at SIGIR'98 by students. These grants will, in the first instance, be awarded competitively for students who are presenting work (papers, posters, and demonstrations) at SIGIR'98. Students who are not presenting work may also apply, but preference will be given to presenters.

Students seeking support should apply (email preferred) by June 23, 1998 answering the listed questions. Awards will be announced via email by June 30, 1998. Students who register late for the conference as a result of having been awarded a travel grant will be exempted from the $100 late fee.
