Abstract
Existing techniques for searching the Internet are becoming less and less
practical as the Internet continues to grow in size. To continue to be
useful, we need to have some new approaches
to the problem of searching extremely large collections. Using Java and a
patented
distributed searching technique, Infoseek is taking a unique approach
to the problem while at the same time enhancing speed, reliability, and
accuracy.
